Taylor Jennings: JUNE.

June has been a very relaxing and quiet month for me.  I have spent most of my time reading in the backyard, baking, and going to the beach.  Here are a few of my favorite moments from my summer thus far...
    {Colton graduates from high school}

{Newport Beach, California}

{Knox, Indiana}

    {Il Fornaio Restaurant and Bakery/ Irvine, California}

{Laguna Beach, California}

hillary allison-- oh, the places you'll go

Yet another little questionnaire:

Where were you five years ago?
Five years ago I was 16. I had my license, my new car and was nearing a break up with my now ex-boyfriend. Oh how much I didn't know.

Where would you like to be five years from now?
I wish for very specific things. In five years I will be 26. Hopefully I'll have settled into a designing job I love and am sustaining a manageable income. I hope to have a claw foot bath tub and a nice camera. I will have a new car by then and I hope with all my heart it will be a convertible to cruise around LA in. Maybe a dog? Maybe a boyfriend? I hope I still have the four best friends that I have now even though I know I will.

What is on your to do list today?

1. Make it to school alive
2. Edit some pictures of barcelona
3. Grocery shop for taco night
4. Finish the video I'm making of our trip
5. pick up some 1 euro sangria

well that was very small indeed. ta ta!

hillary allison- summer reading list

Oh sweet summer. Time to sip a mojito, grab a book and get a tan. Here are some of my recommendations for ideal poolside reads.
summer readingFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

(counterclockwise from top)
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
How to Save Your Own Life by Erica Jong
The Subterraneans by Jack Kerouac
An Unfinished Season by Ward Just

...Enjoy!

hillary allison- who, what, where: barcelona

I realized today that I'm half way into my Euro-trip and have yet to post anything about Barcelona. Since I've been here for two weeks I've had time to pick some favorites.

1.) Passeig de Gracia
aka the shopping mecca of Barcelona. This particular street houses top designers, as well as urban boutiques. Feeling trendy? Stop by Santa Eulalia which features Marc Jacobs, Christian Louboutin, Stella McCartney and many other fabulous designers.

2.) Zara. Thank you Barcelona for this import.

3.) Dow Jones is known as the stock market bar of Barcelona. Screens hanging from the top of the bar display "stocks" as the prices of your drinks actually go up and down (so wait to get that whiskey sour until it falls below 4 euro)! Order quickly though, by the time the bartender makes your drink, the price may have gone back up!

4.) Sitjes is a beautiful beach with palm trees, cute cafes and charming shops. Only a thirty minute train ride from Barcelona, this is must-visit for those trying to escape the crowded beaches of Port Olympico. Bonus for some: you can tan topless! ... I chose not to participate.

5.) Antoni Gaudi's Parc Guell was my favorite place to visit, not only for the whimsical Gaudi touches, but mostly for the amazing views.

Taylor Jennings: Summer Obsessions

1. Three Arch Bay Beach.
The beach is private for its residents, but if you can find a connection, you will be in an ultimate paradise. The quiet beach has coves that make you feel like you are the only one on the beach (and the fancy bathrooms are also a plus!).

2. CoverGirl Fruit Spritzers Lip Gloss, Watermelon Splash.
This lip gloss tastes delicious and summery...it's cheap too!

3. OPI Nail Lacquer in Hot & Spicy.
The shade of orange screams summer without being "too" bright.

4. "Peaches" by Jodie Lynn Anderson
This book caught my eye at Barnes and Noble, not only because of the color but because it is about three very different friends and their summers that they spend together.

5. Lime Colada After Sun Lotion.
This Hawaiian Tropic after-sun lotion hydrates your skin after being in the sun to avoid peeling and dry skin. It smells great!

6. Thermos Intak Water Bottle.
This bottle makes it easy to drink lots of water and to keep track of how many bottles you drink per day. I don't leave the house without it.

7. Flouncy Denim Shorts.
These shorts from Forever 21 look great with a blouse tucked in. I'm so over the denim underwear cutoffs this summer!

8. Summer Icon: Louise Roe.
The British fashion journalist has stellar taste in fashion and lovable charisma.

Alexandra Emily: My Current Obessions

With the beginning of summer comes new beginnings, new trends, and boredom. Here are a few things that have got me excited so far this summer...

OPI Nail Lacquer in Dolce de Leche
It is a beautiful nude color with a hint of pink. It is compatible with any outfit.

My new coral scarf from J Crew
I recently got a job at J Crew, and my usual color palette is very neutral I was drawn to the light coral scarf hanging on the wall. I can still wear my neutral colored clothing, but spice things up a bit with this fun, summery scarf.

"The Heights"
While I was home in Texas for a few weeks there really wasn't much to do other than lay out by the pool and read. I bought the book "The Heights" by Peter Hedges and finished it within two days!

Trader Joe's Pepitas
My mom used to make her own all the time and I never knew where to find them. I used to have her send me them from Texas! I recently found them at Trader Joe's and they are my new favorite snack.

What are your summer obsessions?

Alexandra Emily: On My Mind

"If I Weren't In College I'd Be..."
The marketing director for any fun, trendy beauty brand (ie: Benefit Cosmetics) or working/organizing fashion shows

"Signature Scent..."
I use Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Lavender Chamomile Lotion religiously, and am currently wearing Burberry The Beat, but am on the hunt for a new perfume...any suggestions?

"Listening to..."
The Black Keys! They are my new obsession, every single song on their album is great especially "Tighten Up"

"Playing..."
Really nothing...I am horrible at any cell phone game (ie: Tetris, Brickbreaker, Solitaire)

"Beauty Essential..."
TIGI Rockaholic Dry Shampoo (saved my life at Coachella), I can goes days without washing my hair and it also makes my hair thick and gives it texture

"Watching..."
Currently "Dinner Impossible" I always watch the Food Channel when there is nothing else on, like now.

"Craving..."
To see my friends.

"Wishing I Was..."
Not alone in loft for the past 2 weeks and living in LA already :)

"Best Workout..."
Dancing. It works so many more muscles than you even realize you have, and its fun.

"Itching to..."
Take a dance class. I used to dance in high school and have only taken a few classes throughout the years. Hopefully this summer in LA I can take a few good classes.

"Treasured Possession..."
Gaffe my stuffed giraffe (I'm actually 4 years old...)

"Celebrity Crush..."
Sienna Miller, she is gorgeous and sets her own trends
