hillary allison-- coachella

first post... how exciting! the three of us got back from the Coachella music festival this weekend and needless to say, we had more than an amazing time. we camped regardless of the fact that weren't the most experienced people for the job, but it was a success nonetheless.

Over the weekend we kept our eyes peeled for great people, great style, great celebs, and of course, great music. my favorite shows were yeasayer, vampire weekend, the xx, muse and tiesto. local natives, miike snow, and hot chip were so much fun too.

MGMT were more than disappointing, I'm not sure what they were doing up there, but it was the most pathetic show of the weekend by far (much to my dismay). there was nothing visually appealing about their set (as in they had none), and they just looked bored to tears. the only thing lead vocalist, andrew vanwyngarden managed to ask the audience was "who is on drugs right now?", which was the only way he even referenced the huge audience at all (aside from only saying very meekly, "thank you very much" directly at the end of every song). boo MGMT... Congratulations stinks anyway.

miike snow on the other hand were phenomenal; definitely a crowd pleaser...everyone was having fun. the local natives are my new favorite band...and last but not least, edward sharpe & co. were beyond precious.

celeb sightings:

hayden panetierre spotted backstage hanging with friends at edaward sharpe and the magnetic zeros.

jay-z and beyonce enjoying each other's company at MGMT
nora kirkpatrick (of Greek) rocking out with her band, edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros.

ezra koenig hanging with fans front row at Miike Snow

hopefully coachella 2011 is in our future here at loft, at least we now have sleeping bags and are fully prepared for how crazy the weekend is.
